Hair Raising Pretties, and Lucille Elaine

Business has BLOWN UP in the past week! I had a dream come true, and it still makes me smile from ear to ear to think about.

One of my dreams has always been to have my 'hair raising pretties' as Rebekah calls them, in a store that has a vintage feel to it.

Lucille Elaine made that dream come true last Monday! Lucille Elaine is boutique with a 1950's feel to it with everything from fancy hats to clutches. When this boutique opened it quickly became my new favorite store. Those of you that know me well know that when I have a new 'favorite' I become a little shall we say-obsessed with it. I quickly became a frequent shopper there and friends with most of the girls. Rebekah in particular, she is darling! She suggested a few weeks back that I should talk to the owner to get my headbands in Lucille, and that she thought they would sell VERY well.

Rebekah was right! The owner loved them, and bought a few to start, and they all sold in about 3 days! I just dropped a second batch off 2 days ago.

Since my 'hair raising pretties' are authentic vintage, they fit in perfectly! Lucille Elaine is located at the Fashion Place Mall in Murray, Utah just outside of Nordstrom. You can follow Lucille's twitter page here. Their website should be coming shortly!

Speaking of darling Rebekah, she e-mailed me this morning and said-

Kiersten,
I am writing this little e-mailed note to you this lovely Christmas Eve morn to tell you that I oh-so-happily did a feature/spotlight on you and your fabulous headbands today on my bargain-y little blog.

Take a looky loo
here. You gave me no choice with your darling selection of hair-raising pretties (and yes, after talking with you again yesterday, I went ahead and got a pretty all my own to give as a giftie to my niece and I know that she'll just fall -excuse the pun that's coming up- head over heels for it!)
You are just a doll and I can't wait to sell right out of them all at Lucille Elaine!
Your Lucille Elaine Gal Pal,
Rebekah (the pixie-headed shopgirl)

Isn't she just great?! Her blog is ADORABLE. I love the way she writes.

Less than 12 hours until Christmas! I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday and get to spend it with the ones you love.

Newest Creations!

Yesterday I went to Treasures Antique Mall in Springville,Utah. This is my new favorite place for antiques! I found a beautiful purple velvet hat from the 1950's that I bought to make headbands out of. Today I took the hat apart and made this! Here is my newest creation!

It didn't take too much velvet to make this, I can make lots more like it!

The second creation is a barrette made out of 2 buttons and pieces of a doily from around 1942. Every time I make a new headband/barrette I always say its my new favorite one. I sure do love these ones! Hope you do too!

Today was a wonderful day, and life is BEAUTIFUL!

Life is BEAUTIFUL!
Since I haven't posted for a couple of months, I'm going to try and post something every or every other day.

More Pictures.

The roses on this headband are hand-made out of chiffon. The buttons are from 1938 and the doily from the 1960's.

This headband has felt flowers and leaves. The buttons and lace on the end are from sometime in the 1950's.

This hairclip is made from a lace doily and button from the 1940's.
Gotta go for now, I'll post more pictures later!
Lots of love. xoxo

Vintage Headbands

All of my headbands shown are authentic vintage. They either have vintage fabric, lace, or buttons sewn onto them. Each one is unique in its own way. Not one is the same. It is very rare to find more than one of the same antique button, or piece of lace.

My cousin is working on my website and it will be up within a couple months. In the mean time you can e-mail me at bellodeepocadesign@gmail.com and place an order. More pictures will be up soon!

Headbands are $25 each.
Rings will be up soon and are also $25.

Much Love,
Kiersten

More Headbands!

Each one of these headbands is different and unique. As you can see there are a few different styles. Some of the headbands I can re-create because I have more than one of the same button. However, that is not always the case.

These headbands buttons and lace date back from the 1900's up to 1967.

Hope you like them!

Much Love,

Kiersten
